Police invade Sexy Soi 6

May 19th, 2012 no comment

Banglamung district officers descended in force for one night recently to check the IDs of bar staff and street beckoners in case there were any under-age sex workers. The location was the popular Soi 6 in North Pattaya which has a galaxy of bars and clubs to attract devotees of night life as well as gawpers. However, spot checks on literally hundreds of staff did not produce any irregularities in the documentation.
It was a different story when about 100 bar girls and 10 transsexuals were ordered to relieve themselves into small bottles. Around half tested positive for methamphetamine misuse and were frog-marched to police headquarters. However, few if any were charged since they argued successfully that their test failure was due to influenza medication and other treatments requiring medication bought over-the-counter.
Released into the night, the bar workers and street itinerants were then free to resume their nightly labours which included saying hello, serving drinks, having stimulating conversations and suggesting to entranced tourists where the best pizzas, hamburgers and fish and chips are to be found in the area. The Banglamung district authority promised further raids just to ensure that all remains hunky-dory.
